Featured areas
on the show floor
In addition to top vendors, ISC East/Infosecurity NY offered
specialized product-specific areas, offering targeted opportunities
to dealers and installers through SmartHome@ISC, as well as
those interested in protecting our urban and populated areas through
Urban Security (featuring over 40 vendors). These specialty
areas featured interactive demonstrations on the latest products and
technologies in their respective sectors and were also supported
with in-depth information through educational opportunities at the
ISC Education program.
The latest
trends...Convergence is the future
Convergence, one of the largest themes in our industry, was
effectively captured at the event, and was featured in the
specialized Security Operations Center. The SOC focused solely on
the convergence of information and physical securities and answered
the questions around bandwidth and compatibility, proving the
importance of this new technology in the industry as a whole and the
impact it will have on many different aspects of government,
business, education and the everyday lives of American citizens.
Education
A key advantage to attendees at this year’s show was the
education and training that included the IP Institute, a
full-conference program and the keynote presentations. “Besides
previewing products from the leading security vendors, attendees
could also gain personal development and insight from the many
industry-thought leaders in attendance," commented Dean Russo, Group
Vice President, Security and Life Safety portfolio, Reed
Exhibitions.
ISC365.com – Delivering the
power of ISC online
ISC365.com was also of interest to attendees looking to access
security information, products, networking and education. Since the
launch 5 months ago, during the month of August, over 20,000
visitors visited the ISC365.com site alone. We have exceeded over
20,000 products in the product catalog, and we will be adding all
new education content from ISC East to the robust educational
webinar offering on the site. We will also be adding new community
tools such as eGroups and product reviews.
Other
Highlights
The shows opened on September 11, and featured a keynote address
from Anthony Reyes, a retired NYPD computer crimes detective who
also worked on Governor Pataki’s Cyber-Security Task Force. Reyes
now chairs the National Institute of Justice’s Electronic Crimes
Partnership Division, and has written several books based on his
knowledge and tremendous wealth of experience with both information
and physical securities.
Other highlights of the
shows included a “Defining the Global Security Marketplace” panel
session, a “Meet the Press” session and a “Taste of Brazil”
networking reception.
