Pactiv Corp. , of Lake Forest, IL, has given the traveling public a Christmas present of sorts: Free Hefty One-Zip one-quart slider bags. The Pactiv Hefty bags are provided at no charge at many of the nation's major airports, enabling millions of Americans to comply with the Transportation Security Administration 3-1-1 carry-on guidelines for air travel. Those guidelines specify that liquid or gel toiletries must be stored comfortably in a one-quart size, clear plastic zip-top bag, no container holds more than 3 ounces and that there can only be one bag per passenger. Pactiv estimates over 10 million Hefty bags will be distributed this year.
